Peephole Privacy Policy
Overview
Peephole is a macOS menu bar app made by Soner Eker that lets you view live video from IP cameras you configure. This policy covers the Peephole app.
No data collected by the app
Peephole does not collect or send personal information, camera video or usage data to us. The app has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or cloud service.
Camera connections
The app connects directly to the stream addresses you add and receives their video while the popover is open. The Test button contacts a configured stream to check its availability without playing video. Authentication credentials are supplied to a camera when it requests them. Your camera or stream provider operates separately and may have its own privacy policy.
Information stored on your Mac
Camera names, stream addresses, usernames and your selected camera are saved locally on your Mac. Camera passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain. Peephole does not record video or provide audio playback.
You can edit or delete a camera in settings. Deleting a camera removes its saved configuration and the password entry created for it by Peephole.
Support
If you email us for support, we use the information you provide to respond and help resolve your request. Please do not send camera passwords or stream addresses containing credentials.
Website
This policy covers the app. The sonereker.com website has a separate website privacy policy.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app's behavior changes. Any update will appear here with a new effective date.
